So you have been on Facebook for the last three or so years. Your friends have even branded you an addict, not a bad idea. But have you ever stopped to think about what Facebook can do for you aside from chatting with friends? Being on Facebook for close to eight hours a day doesn’t brand you an addict; some of you reading this might think am trying to justify myself coz am always logged in most of the day and night. Most teens/youths aged from about 16years have at least a membership on one or more social networks. This can be a healthy move or drastic depending on what drives you to these social networks. I’ve talked to a number of grown ups who either know nothing about these sites out of ignorance or they are not connected because according to them being on Facebook or Twitter is a waste of time and its only good for teens and youths who are out to have fun.
I partly agree with them these sites are for fun. But did you know you can use your facebook account for some many other things like making money, getting yourself a job or better still if you’ve got a website driving traffic to your website; that’s what am doing driving traffic to my blog using facebook and twitter ;). I’m sure right now many of you are asking yourself how on earth can I get a job through facebook huh? This is pretty easy all you have to do is connect with the right people. When I say the right people I mean befriend/connect with people who work in different companies that might require your services. Its better to have 50 quality friends than 10k who cant be of help. Now that you have connected with them, now its time for some serious business, try to engage these people in chats or messages you know get to know what their company deals with. By chatting with them you’re learning more about the company and the possibility of knowing of open vacancies is very high.
There are a number of ways to make money using social networks but that’s a topic for another day. You can also drive traffic to your website using social networks. All you’ve got to do is post relevant info with a link to your site. You can also try blogging as a way of generating free traffic.
Being on facebook can be both fun and lucrative depending on how you look at it. Now you can breathe and relax knowing that being branded a facebook addict can earn you some money when your friends think you are wasting your time.
